At Night, I Belonged To Him by fireburner543 At Night, I Belonged To Him by fireburner543
This is From Petrosinella
Reference :icontemperate-sage:’s [link] it is a beautiful photograph

When I started this it was meant to be Rapunzel, then I decided to make it the Vain Queen in Snow White. Then as I kept going it ended up looking like a Rapunzel with Brown hair. So I made it Petrosinella. Like she is from Northern Italy and I tried to make her fashion a little more from the renaissance time period.

And yes I am working on the wizard of oz and a picture of Belle currently as well as a picture named after the book I am reading called ‘Bitter Greens’, an amazing book! … just saying

Hope you like my work and stay tuned

Rapunzel can have brown hair. One of the earliest tales of her was Persian and she had black hair in it. There is the story of St. Barbara which inspired Rapunzel too and I think she was brunette.  Anyway, I love this as a brown haired Rapunzel.  Petrosinella is a Rapunzel take too.

hahaha i know lol though i am kinda conscious about making her have brown hair because in the brother Grimm Tale of Rapunzel ( in the 1812 version) she is described as having 'beautiful long hair that shone like gold' and Persinette (1697) is i believe to have been described as blonde where as Petrosinellas (1637) hair is described as being like two golden banners out of the window so i guess actually she could have brown hair with a hint of Red or Blonde in it.

True, spun as fine as gold could mean very very fine texture, and shine like gold could be red or brown with golden shine to it.  I've read some where that the Grimms might have meant red hair because gold back then was more copper colored and less yellow.

I love your art, by the way.  It is just amazing!  Do you ever do commissions?  I just went through looking at everything and reading some of the stories too. Very nice!

I'd love to see the 12 Dancing Princesses and The Seven Swans.

These was a book I loved of the Seven Swans which I'd love to see in your style.  The artist was Susan Jeffers and I think you could take that look and turn it into something wonderful of your own.  I love how you give everyone long hair!
